Legend of the Ruby Silver: A mother and son are hired to lend a hand at a mining site. When the mine doesn't produce as expected, dangers become more and more real. Young pioneers: Molly and David Beaton are young newlyweds who head out for the vast wilderness of the newly opened Dakota territory to start a new life. They secure a large track of land as "homesteaders" and build a sod house to try to get through the long, difficult winter. Prairie fever: The Western trail can be a risky one, but it becomes a road to redemption for a destitute lawman, a journey towards hope for three troubled women, and a way to keep running from the law for a sharp but desperate woman. Seven alone: Thirteen-year-old John Sager takes on the responsibility of his six younger siblings, and shepherds them safely to Oregon in 1843 after their parents die while traveling from Missouri to a better life in the West. Based on a true story. Follow the river: Mary Ingles is a Virginia homesteader whose family is suddenly captured by Shawnee Indians. Impressed by her courage and strength after being taken captive, the Shawnee leader decides to make Mary his mate. Mary then makes the dangerous decision to escape the Shawnee village with another captive woman. Together they embark on a harrowing journey through the Virginia wilderness toward freedom and home. Pioneer woman: A woman endures the death of her husband, then must decide whether or not to make a go of her new home with only the help of her children. Set in Wyoming around 1867. Mother's gift: In her small frontier town, Abbie finds herself being courted by two different men, Will and Ed. After promising Ed her hand, her true love, Will comes back from the war asking the same. Abbie choses Will and the pair leave town for land out West. With only the pearls her mother gave her as a wedding gift and her love of singing, Abbie discovers that life on the prairie is tough on her marriage and her dream. Sign of the Otter: During the American Revolution, a young boy captured by the British and held prisoner in the enemy fort must be brave and resourceful while awaiting rescue. His father accepts the help of a friendly native Indian chief, and together they scale the walls of Fort Niagra to save the boy in a daring rescue. Rugged gold: Martha, a widowed socialite raising her son Lloyd, finds love again with Don, a rugged outdoorsman who convinces her to move north. When Lloyd and Don go missing during a dangerous earthquake, Martha is forced to endure an Alaskan winter on her own. Carried by her unwavering will to live, Martha's tale of survival is an uplifting experience for the entire family.
