Summary, etc William Penhallow Henderson was born on June 4, 1877 in Medford, Massachusetts. He became an architect in the new Old Santa Fe style and creator of unique ne furniture that combined Arts and Crafts sensibility with New Mexican design elements. He spent twelve year in Chicago and was a successful instructor at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, he was a portraits artist and they were sought after. In 1916 he arrived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and moved into an adobe home on Camino del Monte Sol Soon after his move, he became active participant in the growing Santa Fe art colony. He passed away on October 15, 1943 in Tesuque, New Mexico.
