Summary, etc |
Trent Carter is a sixty-something, washed-up retired cop. Living with his daughter and a mangy orange tomcat, he suddenly finds himself pulled out of retirement to investigate several seemingly unrelated cases, including a series of 'cold case" murders going back decades. On top of everything else, Trent's dead wife now seems to be appearing to him. 70 years earlier Otto Eberhardt was a young German soldier who had excaped from an American WWII prison camp at Trinidad, Colorado. He only wants to survive to his family if they are still alive. But his fellow escapee has plans to carry on the war right in America, no matter the cost. Trent and Otto might be separated by time and history, but they are unexpectedly bound on an intertwining journey to a common level of redemption. |
