Sam Hughes was born on April 17, 1941 in Columbia, South America where his father worked for an oil company. He spent his younger years moving around the world where ever his father’s job would take them. He started his studies a Rice University in Huston, Texas. He attended Columbia university in New York, he attended Harvard University and received a degree in Architecture. He worked as an architecture for about 9 or 10 years before going back to teaching. After a time, he turned his devotion back to his main focus art, he made his way Raton in early December of 1994 and stayed ever since doing what he loves.
