Harold Herbert Elliot was born on March 27, 1890 in Killarney, Manitoba. He be began painting in 1948 as recommended by his doctor following a heart attack. He usually asked for a high amount for his art because he didn’t want to part with them. His paintings are often signed “Van Vokingburgh” after his mother’s family. He passed away on August 28, 1968 in Burnaby, British Columbia.
