Regina Tatum Cooke was born on August 22, 1902 in Corsicana, Texas. As a young woman she studied art at Ward Belmont Junior College in Nashville, Tennessee. She also studied at Bethany College I Lindborg, Kansas with Birger Sandzen. She moved to Taos, New Mexico in 1933. She passed away on September 3, 1988 in Santa Fe, New Mexico
