Blanche Chloe Grant was born on September 23, 1874 in Leavenworth, Kansas. She attended high school in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated in the first-class from Vassar College. She studied art at the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Academy of Fine Arts, and The Art Students League in New York. In 1920 She moved to Taos, New Mexico. She was a member of the Taos art Colony, she was a painter of landscape and figure work associated with the Taos Pueblo Indians and the American Southwest. She was also a printmaker and wrote several books on the history of Taos, New Mexico. She Past away on June 19, 1948 in Taos, New Mexico.
