Manville Chapman was born in 1903 in Raton, New Mexico. He was a graduate of Raton High School, the University of Iowa and attended the Chicago Art Institute, as well as the Pratt School of Art in New York. He was a writer and artist of note. He passed away on January 26, 1978 in Concord, California.
