Text and pictures highlight the main events of the 1950's. In this book it talks all about the 1950’s and what was going on during this time period. in the first chapter it talks all about the Communist country of Russia It gives specific information such as when Richard Nixon visited Moscow. In the second chapter it talks about how in Europe the scars of war where healing and how each country are trying to help with this. The Uninvited states where also trying to help recreate the bond that we once had with other countries. In the forth chapter it talks about how leaders rose out of the ashes of world war two and fell as a result of it. Such as The leader of Cuba, Castro was threatening another great war nuclear war witch in chapter seven the atomic age. This chapter talks about precautions that we took against atomic war such as creating the fallout shelter and the under ground bunkers that we still use today but we use them much different now then we did back then. some of them where turned into military bunkers and some where just cast aside. “The European free trade association was set up in 1959 to rival the common market.”
