On Pony Ranch on Chincoteague Island, Misty waits for her foal to be born. Her family, Paul and Maureen, Grandma and Grandpa Beebe wake every morning wondering if the foal is born. But a sudden storm and flood bring disaster to all of Chincoteague. The herd of ponies is lost. The family has to leave their home. And where is Misty? Born during the havoc of the storm, Misty's foal becomes the symbol of hope and rebirth to the stricken islanders.
