When Kay Merryman's grandparents pass away, they leave her their old-fashioned country store in their will. Kay must decide whether to move from the city where she lives in order to keep their bequest or to stay where she is to pursue her writing career.
Everyone wants her to stay and have a go at keeping up the store while bringing it into the nineties. She meets Lowell Boyd, the county commissioner and they find they share an attraction.
