There have been 21 mvoeis theaters in Las Cruces over 110 years. All but three or four are forgotten. They are remembered no longer. And the Airdrome Theater which opened in 1914 deserves to be known by all movie historians. It was an automobile drive-in theater, open two decades before movie history declares the drive-in was invented. Details of the history of movies in Las Cruces are supplemented by 102 photographs and illustrations.
