In King Henry V of England, the dying energies of medieval life kindled for a short moment into flame. When Henry died he was only thirty five years old, yet in the nine years of his reign he had surppressed a revolt of the proto-Protestant Lollards, defeated the French against overwhelming odds at Agincourt in 1415, conquered the whole of Normandy and more, and was instrumental in ending the Papal Schism.
