Rough translation on back of photo:<br/><br/>Grandmother Joseph Clouthier, Eilie Roy, from Sabrevois, she was born in 1828, married the late Joseph Clouthier.  In 1847 was buried in St. Jean Iberville, with her son Philippe, in 1903. She has 10 children including 6 boys: Calixte, Aristide, Edouard, Philippe, Alphone and Georges, and 4 daughters: Josephine, Eliza, Nathalie and Louise. Widowed at 35 (1863), she raised all her children on the Sabrevois farm, with the help of her eldest son Calixte who was only 15 years old when his father died. She was a woman of great energy, unshakable principles and exceptional strength of character, according to many who knew her. 
<br/><br/> Second wife of Joseph Clouthier and mother of Calixte, Aristide, Euforcyne, Edouard, Phillipe, Georges, Josephine, Nathalie, Eliza and Louise Clouthier - all dead.
